What is Enactus?
Enactus is a worldwide organization that shapes generations of student entrepreneurs who are passionate about making positive change. Enactus operates in 35 countries, over 1,730 college and university programs, and positively impacts the lives of over 1.3 million people annually. Enactus aims to create a better, more sustainable world.
Who We Are
We are Enactus Okanagan College (OC), a non-profit organization that enables value-driven student leaders to form connections, build confidence, and positively impact local communities through social, economic, and environmental projects. Our team expands across Okanagan College’s four campuses in Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, and Salmon Arm and is home to over 70 student volunteers leading various projects across the Okanagan.
Gaining Experience
Enactus OC student members volunteer their time and receive mentorship from many devoted faculty advisors. The advisors act as role models to our students, coaching them on project development. building their confidence, and helping them overcome obstacles. Students also receive guidance from local experts and collaborate with other community organizations to implement high impact solutions. One key part of Enactus OC is our collaboration with community partners. By partnering with key community businesses, we are able to have a larger impact and a stronger connection with those impacted by our projects. Another strength of our leadership program is the involvement of our alumni. They assist our program through providing key partnership connections, mentoring, giving advice to current project managers, and providing funding opportunities.
The experiences students gain through the EnactusOC program introduce them to entrepreneurship in various contexts, allowing them to form positive associations with the entrepreneurial role, and develop the self efficacy needed to believe in their abilities, Graduates from our organization go on to launch new businesses, create new jobs in their community, and inspire other individuals to engage in entrepreneurial action. We cultivate sustainable entrepreneurship through enhancing the education of young leaders.
Community Driven
Through community and on-campus support, Enactus OC has grown to be a nationally acclaimed organization over its 15-year history. Every year, our team competes in regional, national, and international competitions, presenting on our project's successes. Our team is given the opportunity to build their confidence in public speaking, network among Enactus students across Canada, and be rewarded for their efforts. We repeatedly secure titles at the regional and national levels of academic competition.
Our team continues to expand each year, giving our students the opportunity to advance their leadership development in innovative, influential, and empowering ways. We are developing community leaders that are a part of social change that is making our world a better place. At Enactus OC, we are inspiring the next generation through social innovation.
