Elevate is designed to empower youth through entrepreneurial skills development and mentorship. The project has partnered with both Aboriginal Services at Okanagan College and Kody Woodmass of Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society.
Elevate will work with the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society’s Original Born Art (OBA) program which aims to connect Indigenous youth interested in becoming an artist with native culture, traditions, and protocols, to provide a mechanism to start their own business. Together we hope to provide an environment where Indigenous youth can realize their talents and channel their creativity while being encouraged to adopt entrepreneurial competencies and strengthen their skills. Our goal is to work together through a collective impact approach.
This project has already been selected to participate in the Shaw Youth Entrepreneurship Roundtable at the Enactus Regional Competition in March and also to compete in the Shaw Youth Entrepreneurship Project Accelerator Final Round of Competition this May - held as part of the 2022 Enactus Canada National Exposition!
